‘Hardwired...To Self-Destruct’ is het elfde studioalbum van Metallica. Voorafgaand aan de release van dit album is de eerste single ‘Hardwired’ uitgebracht. ‘Hardwired... To Self-Destruct’ is de opvolger van het succesvolle album ‘Death Magnetic’ uit 2008. De band uit Los Angeles werkte op het nieuwe album samen met producer Greg Fidelman, die ook betrokken was bij de totstandkoming van ‘Death Magnetic’.
